March 20, 2020 – We have the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in San Miguel County. This isn’t coming as a shock to anyone. The 54-year old resident had been traveling domestically (reinforcing the importance of staying in place). He and his family, a few of which experienced minor symptoms, are currently in home isolation for 14 days.

San Miguel County residents will soon be a part of an experimental COVID-19 antibody test with the goal of detecting and containing community spread, and providing a more accurate assessment of disease prevalence. You can read more and stay up-to-date on county alerts here.

We are grateful for the amount of love & support we are seeing within our community right now. It really will take a village to get through this disease and the economic hardship that comes with it.

Stay Positive. Remember to Breathe…This Too Shall Pass!

Telluride is definitely not immune from the impact of this global pandemic, but with the support of our community and plenty of wide open spaces to isolate ourselves within, we remain cautiously optimistic of its effects locally. Our thoughts and hearts are with everyone around the world, may we all come together and help those who need it.

As of this moment, there have been no reported cases of coronavirus in San Miguel County. Local officials have been proactive in their measures to keep our community as safe as possible. We extend a heartfelt thank you to each and every person working towards that goal.
